I have a question about a Letz burr mill. Someone just dropped one off at the local scrap yard and I am wondering if its worth bringing home. Its a Model 220 Type A and looks to be fairly complete. There is a lot of green paint left on the cast iron parts and base but the hopper has lost most of its paint. Its free and spins by hand easily.

My dad had a Letz when I was a kid. It was a burr mill. Used it for ear corn to feed the cattle, and also used it for shelled corn for hogs and chickens. I don't remember a lot of details, but it seems that the burrs had to be changed when switching from ear corn to shelled corn. That auger pipe is for putting the processed grain into a wagon.

This is a nice Letz A140 burr mill used for grilnding feed for livestock. It can grind corn or other grains. This mill can be run with a flat belt with a small tractor. The mill worked the last time it was used, but it has been over 20 years since then so it will probably need a little maintenance--at least some grease.
