I have an older 14' wide disc (not sure which model it is, no tag or marking) and I lost 1 gang. bearing holder and shaft broke. I like my older AC stuff but I'm having a hard time finding parts for this. Is it worth it to try and salvage or would I be better parting it out and find a different disc (tough to answer that)? The shaft is a 1" hex.

One trick I read (and did) was to slide a couple 'fat' O-rings onto the shaft between the seal and where the oil comes from. Since the O-rings are tight onto the shaft oil can't travel past them. As 'rings', oil flies off,so agan, can't get past the seal. Whether you can add 1,2 or none depends on shaft setup and spacing.

The Ford engines were a good cheap engine, using a cast iron crankshaft versus the A-C forged steel crank and a parent bore block instead of wet-sleeves. The G-226 family was ALWAYS the easy overhaul "wet-sleeve" design, which cost more money to build, but service-wise was the best idea there was. No time consuming block boring.

Started on my other B (1944) this weekend and it has a pretty good leak at the crank shaft pulley. I have not torn anything apart but I assume it will have the groove. I have read prior posts about speedi sleeves, JB weld on the groove. I guess I am looking for some direction and advice on the best way to deal with it.

I never seen a dry sleeve allis either. I work on a whole lot more than just these tractors. Last dry sleeve I did was a farmall 169 cubic in for a 300 utility. I currently have 2 Road Runners, 2 78 trans ams, 66 charger, 65 sweptline, and a 74 hurst olds. Plus now have a 7580, 7080, and a 6080. Have owned 180, 185, and a 7060.
